Thoughts on wool.

I was just thinking about this past Christmas and my shopping experience. I was trying not to consciously purchase animal products for friends and family as gifts. (Although I'll admit I just got something for Jeff for Valentine's Day that does seem to involve leather. I didn't look/read very closely. I should really check, it may be synthetic.) More than that though, my grandfather is allergic to wool, so I needed to make sure that any gifts to him had no wool and just to make sure he didn't break out in a rash, I made sure the same went for my grandmother's gifts. I was really surprised how many shirts and sweaters had at least a little wool in them. I'm sure I have some non-obvious items in my own closet. I mean, a 100% wool scarf or sweater is obvious, but I was looking at flannels and dress shirts for him and still finding small percentages. Maybe it's just the winter season. I can't say I'm super concerned about it. I'm not going to rid my closet of all animal products in one fell swoop, just an observation though. I've never really paid so much attention I guess.
